Designer vs High Street

Autumn is officially here. So of course this meant I needed to invest in some purchases to take me through the changing seasons in style. I am certainly one for browsing the internet endlessly and putting together never ending wish lists both designer and high street! I am a huge fan of what the high street has to offer and I am always on the lookout for high street pieces inspired by designers. Recently I was pleasantly surprised on a spontaneous shopping trip to come across these two beauties!

Ah the Chole Faye bag. Where do I even start. I have loved it since I set my eyes on it (but a tad outside my price range).  A browse in Matalan led me to this purchase and one I am so happy with. I love this bag, and the similarity to the designer version is amazing (look at what you could save!). A wardrobe staple (because who doesn't need more black bags). A great size to fit all your bits and bobs in for the day, or a great evening bag for drinks with your friends! A definite steal and one I would highly recommend.

Still plenty in stock in store or online:
Secondly, I was on the hunt for a new winter boot as I lived in my old Topshop boots last winter that the sole had virtually disintegrated. I'm quite fussy on my boot choices and thought about spending a little more money on a pair this year as I literally live in them so was thinking of it like price per wear, and managed to convince myself that my reasons were justified! I found this pair from Givency online and loved them. But at a pricey £770 I was very hesitant to make such a pricey purchase and decided to keep on looking. Thankfully I did and found my feet a toasty new home for the winter months.

Givenchy (£770)                                                                       Topshop (£45)

These were the Topshop BEAUT back zip boot, and beaut they are! They were so nice I actually bought two pairs. Two pairs I hear you say?! It sounds ridiculous but when I find a pair of boots that I love, both style and fit (which is rare) I just had to do it. One for every day, and the other for smart occasions. They are so similar to the Givenchy boots minus the studs, and these boots will literally go with everything. I have already worn them a few times and they are super comfortable and I will definitely get my wear out of them this season.

Unfortunately I think they are now sold out but here a similar pair that I also love

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed this post!
